Pinterest Picks

While lost in the depths of Pinterest, a genius idea popped in my head. Since I get so many fashion ideas from Pinterest, why not share some of my favorites on my blog. Not only do I find so many great outfit ideas, but the accessories I find are to die for, and all of them help inspire my blog. So I am dedicating this post to my favorite finds on Pinterest, and if enough people like it (let me know in the comments what you think), I will do a post like this every month and share my monthly favorites. So circle up everyone, it is show and tell Pinterest style.

Day To Day

So I know this is two pins, but they both involve something I love. Overalls. I have been wearing overalls since I was a little kid and still am today. Although I did take a little break in middle school from them because you aren’t allowed to be original at that point in your life. These outfits could have so easily gone from fashion to farmer, with a few little mistakes, but they are spot on. Sadly some people don’t embrace overalls like the fashion world does because while wearing overalls with leopard print a few people went out of their way to say I should be on a farm… they don’t know what they are missing out on!

From top to toe this outfit has everything I could ever want. Not only does it have AMAZING pink booties, but a pink knit scarf to only add to my collection. White jeans are always a must for me, and I could never turn down a floral printed blazer. Plus the fact that the girl wearing it is a ginger doesn’t hurt. This is one of those times that I wish whatever I pinned immediately appeared in my closet If these reasons aren’t enough to explain why I love this entire outfit then I don’t know what is!

What is not to love about this pin? You get your classic looks with some added sparkle and that to me can’t get any better. The outfit on the right is by far my favorite. If I ever need an example of how to pair sequined shorts, knee high socks, and a bow tie, then this will be my go to pin because this girl is spot on! The other outfits are great too because they give off such an androgynous vibe, which is always a classic look for me.

  Right Off The Runway

I am absolutely obsessed with this Marchesa gown. It caught my eye immediately and haven’t gotten over it since. Not only is it gorgeous, but it also brings out my inner nerd.  My first remark when I saw it was “It looks like muscle tissue” followed by “If that was their intent they are geniuses”. While I don’t know if this was their idea when designing this gown, it sure caught my attention. Two thumbs up for Marchesa!

Congratulations to Dolce and Gabbana for giving people an opportunity to wear a crown in public. This pin could not get any better! Not only is the model wearing a jeweled dress with a king on it, but a jeweled crown as well. Even though I know I will never be able to afford a single stitch on this model, or that I will never have an opportunity to wear a crown in public, I still love it because it is completely useless and out of the ordinary.

Let’s Get Some Shoes

If I owned these Louboutins I would wear them every single day no matter what the occasion was.
Even if I was just staying in all day I would wear them because they wouldn’t instantly make a day better. The baby pink color counteracts the spikes, which I think is a perfect description of my personality. Sweet, but definitely has some spice. If anyone would like to purchase these for me that would be great because I know I won’t be buying them anytime soon!

These shoes are beyond weird, but I knew I had to pin them for that reason. I think that if you were having a bad day they would instantly make the day better. All you have to do is look at your feet and someone is winking at you. How could that not brighten your day? They are a little weird and I am a little weird, which is why these shoes make such a great pin.

Rings and Things

While I might never be able to wear a crown on my head in public,
nobody ever said anything about a crown on my finger. I don’t wear rings all too often, but I would wear this one every day. It is a delicate ring that isn’t too showy, but it would let people know that I am basically royalty (only in my dreams). If I ever stumble upon this ring I will make it mine.

So I know this picture was in the “Accessorize Your Life” post, but I still love this pin. Like I said, I have wanted a transparent bag before it was even a trend, and this is still true. What I love about this pin is that it is a clutch, so it isn’t too overwhelming. Plus having it clear will make it so easy to find things!

No Fashion Involved

Now I don't think this pin needs much of an explanation on why it is my favorite, but just in case some of you are unsure. This is quite an attractive guy with great hair. He has a dimple, and I love when a guy has dimples. He is dressed impeccably, and I don't even care if it is because it was for a photo shoot. Finally, he is wearing a bow tie, and what girl doesn't like a guy wearing a bow tie?

When I came across this pin I couldn’t help, but laugh because it is a perfect explanation of my current relationship. I still laugh every time I look at this. It is kind of sad, but oh so true.

Then there is this. I think this came out of my mouth when I was on the phone with my mom during a Friday night conversation....Any fashionable people want to be friends?

Now choosing just a few pins was quite a challenge for me, so if you want to see all my other pins, or repin these for yourself, check out my Pinterest at http://pinterest.com/reelgirly/ Also, let me know if you liked this or not, and if enough people like this I will make it a monthly post.

Accessorize Your Life

Giorgio Armani once said “Accessories are important and becoming more and more important every day. They can completely change the look of an outfit, and women like the idea of having a wardrobe that's versatile” and boy was he right. No outfit is complete without a few accessories, but that doesn’t mean stack bracelets up to your elbows. Since accessories are such a big part of fashion and spring is just getting started, I figured it was only right to talk about what accessories are perfect for adding some pizazz to your spring wardrobe.

Looks like everyone is becoming believers in the phrase “opposites attract”considering the color combo of black and white is trending in both clothes and accessories. The color combo is such a classic that it is always in style, but now more than ever it is making a statement. From bags to shoes, it seems that people just can’t get enough, including me. You can take a black and white bag, like the one from Marc Jacobs, and either pair it with more black and white or make it a statement piece and wear it with a colored outfit. A great thing about this trend is that it matches everything, which means you will get a lot of use out of any black and white accessory you choose to add into your spring wardrobe.

This next trend is totes amaze….I honestly hate when people say  that, but since totes are trendy I felt that it was fitting. Now I love a good tote, but there are some definite positives and negatives about them. A positive is that you can fit everything in it. A negative is that you can fit everything in it. It seems to be a win-lose situation because I love being able to carry quite a few things around in my tote, but the second I need one of those objects it becomes impossible to find. Totes are fantastic, but someone should do something about them turning into a black hole whenever you need to find something. However, I still own many totes and you should to because they are always nice to have around and add a great touch to any outfit. To take you tote from average to trendy, purchase a structured one. I like the structured ones quite a bit more than their opposite, but I have yet to purchase one. I definitely will though considering how many great ones there are!

I would have to say this next trend is quite transparent, and I actually mean it. Whether you want a see through bag or a pair of clear heels, this trend has got you covered. I am not sure how I feel about this because if you had a pair of clear shoes couldn’t everyone see how sweaty your feet are? Also I don’t have the prettiest feet so I don’t plan on purchasing transparent shoes anytime soon. A few years ago I saw a transparent bag and wanted one so bad, but it cost over $100, and I was not paying that. Now there are so many clear bags made not only by well-known designers like Stella McCartney, but in stores like Forever 21. Along with purses and shoes are bracelets and rings, which I quite like. I think they add a bit of spunk to your outfit, and I am all for a bit of spunk.

Trends aren’t just for fashion, but for our wellbeing as well. Oversized sunglasses not only make a statement, but also protect a lot of the skin around our eyes from sun damage. It is so nice to see that the fashion industry cares about us in that way. Whether or not this is the actual reason oversized sunglasses are trending I don’t care. As you saw in my last post “Spring Break Haul” I bought a pair of cat eye sunglasses that I am now wearing every single day. I absolutely love them because they are quite adorable and edgy all at the same time. I highly advise that everyone get a pair of oversized sunglasses because once you have you won’t want to lose them. While I love the cat eye shape, there are so many other shapes as well, and I am sure there is one for every shape of face. Buy a pair and you won’t regret it! Also, I really want both of these pairs soooooo so so bad!

Statement pieces are a big deal right now. This trend is focused on rings and necklaces, and the more attention-grabbing the better. I have been searching everywhere for the perfect statement necklace, and although I haven’t found one yet I am not giving up. I found the cutest ring on Pinterest, but I know it is expensive (I am too scared to look at the actual price), so I am going to continue admiring it through a screen. If you like chunky beads, this trend is for you. If you like feathers, this trend is for you. If you like sparkles, this trend is for you. With statement pieces anything goes. The trick is that you have to make the necklace or ring the focus of your outfit, and not the clothes themselves. To pull off a statement piece you need to keep your outfit basic and build around the necklace or ring. I love this trend and don’t see it going anywhere anytime soon.

These are just a few of my favorite spring accessory trends, and there are many more. If you have been looking for the perfect accessory for your wardrobe, I hope this post helps you out. Until next time…
